The Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival, will take place between the 11th and the 13th of March for 2016. It will feature more than 80 gigs over 2 days and 3 nights in about 30 different venues in Kiama and it’s free!
About the festival
Kiama is situated in the Illawarra area of New South Wales Australia, 120 kilometres south of Sydney. Kiama is a picturesque and artistically inclined seaside town of about 20,000 people who embrace music of all types. The Kiama area includes Gerringong, Gerroa and Jamberoo.
The Kiama Jazz and Blues Club has been operating since 1974 and is run by a group of local volunteers who seek to add to the richness and diversity of the music available to Kiama.
How to Get there
Kiama is 1:45hours south of Sydney CBD (by car), about 2.5 hours north-west of Canberra, and an hour from the Southern Highlands. Kiama is on the beautiful South Coast of NSW just below Wollongong.
Its a pleasant and scenic 2.5hr train ride from Sydney Central. Most music venues are in walking distance from the train station. There are a few parking areas around the town (Leisure Centre, The Pavilion & Clubs), plus limited street parking.
