HOME is the theme of Arts Thursday on 27th December 2018.
The Ideal Home is a phrase that conjures up a long-running English exhibition that showcases the latest ideas, designs and products for the home.
The Ideal Home exhibition at Penrith Regional Gallery and the Powerhouse Museum showcases some of the innovations and products that wowed homeowners in the 20th century – radiograms, early washing machines and domestic technologies and includes 70 objects from the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences’ collection.
The exhibition also explores recent issues associated with the home – such as domestic violence and domestic waste, as well as homelessness through the work of contemporary Australian artists, Cope ST Collective: Matthew Cooper and Colin Kinchela, Karla Dickens, Victoria Garcia, Richard Goodwin, Blake Griffiths, Eliza Gosse, eX de Medici and Catherine O’Donnell
Meet exhibition MAAS Head of Curatorial Jacqui Strecker and Penrith Regional Gallery Director Lee-Anne Hall speaking with Maisy Stapleton at the Penrith Regional Gallery.
