Samara Joy headlines 2025 Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival!

American breakout star and multi-GRAMMY Award-winning vocal sensation, Samara Joy, will be headlining the 2025 Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival on her debut Australian tour this October! Samara is set to amaze with her performances at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre (Penrith) at 8 PM on Thursday (23rd October) and City Recital Hall 8 PM on Friday (24th October). Recently reviewed live performances by Samara Joy were claimed as “jaw-dropping and eyebrow-raisingly impressive”

SIMA’s 2025 Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival is set to be the event’s biggest iteration ever!

At the young age of 25, Samara has experienced meteoric success which has only been experienced before by a few iconic jazz figures. She won the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition when she was just a teenager, and her performance history is incredible, having performed at some of the most legendary venues in Jazz and R&B music. These venues include: The Newport, Monterey and Montreal Jazz Festivals, as well as iconic stages like the Apollo, Carnegie Hall, the Village Vanguard and Jazz at the Lincoln Center.

Joy’s 2022 Verve Records debut Linger Awhile won her two Grammys, including Best New Artist and Jazz Vocal Album. Joy’s follow up album, Portrait – co-produced by Grammy winning trumpeter, Brian Lynch, cemented her as one of Jazz’s most crucial new voices.

Samara Joy will be joined by her seven-piece band for an outstanding evening of jazz!
