Interview With Doctor Fiona Scotney; Director of the Kim Jackson Scholarship at the Australian National University

Dr Fiona Scotney is the Director of the Kim Jackson Scholarship at the Australian National University, an initiative helping more women from regional and rural Australia pursue careers in engineering.

The Kim Jackson Scholarship provides $25,000 per year for up to five years, along with mentoring, professional development opportunities and now access to a dedicated 24-hour Scholars’ Space on campus — designed to foster connection, confidence and community. The program is funded by the Skip Foundation and championed by investor and ANU alumna Kim Jackson.

With women still underrepresented in engineering, the scholarship aims not only to ease financial pressure but to strengthen the pipeline of talented regional students entering and thriving in the profession.
