Meet Hannah, the new intern

Hey eastsiders!

I’m Hannah, an eighteen-year-old girl from a small town in the North of Germany.

That's me! I will do an internship at Eastside Radio until December.

Having arrived in Sydney only yesterday, I’ve still got a lot to discover here. My first impression of the city is very positive. I am living in a host family in Paddington, which is also the district where the Eastside Radio Station is located. I am very positively surprised because the neighborhood is really relaxed and calm even though Sydney is such a big city! The small houses are very cute and beautiful. I also went to Bondi Beach, which was really impressing. Apart from the turquoise water and the bright sand, the graffitti really amazed me.

So many good vibes at the beach!

I’d also like to tell you something about myself: I am playing volleyball since I have been a little child and was a member of a musical group in my hometown. That’s how i discovered the musical genre. Apart from that, I love listening to a wide variety of music, including pop, rock, punk and also some classical music. One of the songs i really love at the moment is a cover of the song “no heroes allowed” by Mayday Parade:

In my family’s kitchen at home in Germany, the radio was always turned on so we could listen to music during the whole day. But the radio stations usually played the same songs from the charts all over again, which, in my opinion, can be kind of boring. That is why I am very happy to work at Eastside Radio and to get in touch with the Jazz genre now. Jazz is almost completely new for me, but a lot of the music played at Eastside Radio sounds really interesting. I really enjoy the relaxing sounds!

I’m excited about what the next thing that impresses me about Sydney will be. I have always dreamed of coming to Australia after having finished school, and now this dream seems to become true. I’m sure that I’ll have a great time here and I look forward to working with all these nice and interesting people for the next three months.

Thanks a lot for reading my post.

You’ll hear from me soon,

Hannah
