A small café on King Street in Newtown  has won awards from the Sydney  Good Food Guide and from the Refuge Council of Australia for its innovative initiatives training refugees and asylum seekers in preparing and presenting food for professional catering and hospitality.  The cafe also gives them a chance to give the local neighbourhood  a taste of the food they would cook for their families in the many countries and cultures from which they have arrived – from all across Africa, the Middle East and Asia.   Ravi Prasad, the founder of the cafe, Parliament on King, spoke with Mick Paddon on Thursday Drive about how he and his wife came to set it up and why the most important thing they are doing is providing a welcoming space in which people can share and compare their comfort foods
