My Culture, My Story

ARTS THURSDAY with Maisy Stapleton on 3 May.

WHAT’S ON TODAY’S PROGRAM:

The theme of The Australian Heritage Festival 2018 is My Culture, My Story, which forms a guide for the program this fortnight.

Join me to speak to the new CEO of the National Trust of Australia (NSW), Debbie Mills about the Festival, its themes, major events and activities you can participate in and enjoy.

The Festival was launched on 18 April and runs until 20 May.

Then artist Nasim Nasr will join me in the studio to speak about her practice.

Nasim, originally from Iran, deals with the complexities not only of cultural identity but also with a multi-disciplinary body of work. Nasim is currently in the exhibition Diversity, celebrating cultural diversity through the work of renowned Australian photographers with different ethnic and cultural heritage which opened recently and runs until 20 May.

Diversity is a HEAD ON exhibition presented by Art Atrium in association with Live in Art.

Sonja Millis is my final guest.

Sonja runs Arthead an all-encompassing printing, photography, scanning, framing, and art supply business in the Southern Highlands. On 12th May she is launching her new Gallery – the Millis Gallery – with an exhibition that is part of the HEAD ON photo festival, when Richard Glover opens an exhibition of work by photographer Jon Lewis – Jon Lewis CLASSICS. The exhibition runs until 28 May in Moss Vale, 484 Argyle Street..
