ARTS THURSDAY – the Writer and the Gallerist

Arts Thursday with Maisy Stapleton on 17 May.

WHAT’S ON TODAY’S PROGRAM:

Ged Gillmore writes crime fiction.

His hero is an ex-drug dealer and Ged’s third book in the Bill Murdoch series has just been published.

English-born Ged has found a way to successfully incorporate experiences from his own background and roles from the police service to the film industry, into an Australian environment. His fast-paced stories with surprising twists, a rather dubious hero and a cast of characters keep the reader whipping through the pages of his books to the end.

Join Ged first up on the Arts Thursday’s program.

Then …

If you’ve ever wanted to open a gallery join me for a conversation with Janet Clayton, who opened her first gallery someahat by accident!

The Janet Clayton Gallery on Oxford Street Paddington has been introducing the community to a range of artists’ work from the fine-drawn beauty of Hanna Kay’s pieces to some remarkable installations such as Michael Keighery’s ceramics in memory of a soldier ancestor Dead Man’s Penny and the extraordinary feather-based wearables of Emily Valentine.

Janet will be speaking about her background and what led her into the life of a gallerist.

Join Arts Thursday as we explore the mind of a fiction-noir writer and the thoughts of a gallerist.
