The Tiger Dream – Happy Axe

Producer and multi-instrumentalist Emma Kelly (stage name Happy Axe) showcases her great skill in her album The Tiger Dream. The album is inspired by Kelly’s deep connection to nature and dreams, drawing from scenes from her walks, rides, and surfs around Australia’s coastline, as well as the magic of being outside at night. Kelly says that “The Tiger Dream is an album named after a dream I had. I was in the most beautiful landscape, the bush where I grew up in Belmore Falls. I saw a beautiful young tiger slinking between the trees. Just as I was admiring its beauty it started to attack.” A tender and reflective album is one that she has created, and is clearly extremely With songs of grief of lost love, Kelly also expresses pathways to new love similar to nature’s constant, slow and powerful changes. The Tiger Dream also acts as a symbol of Kelly’s creative growth and curiosity, especially through her collaborations with instrumentalists. The result is a compelling new evolution in Happy Axe’s sound.
