Same Sky – Aura
Following on from their critically acclaimed debut, self titled release, Melbourne jazz quartet Aura have released Same Sky, their second full length album. The album, which was recorded in Melbourne, features 7 new compositions written specifically for this ensemble. Each of the members have individually risen in the local music scene and have individually become sought after by several local music luminaries as collaborators. The ensemble’s immense skill is clear as Same Sky was recorded in one day before each individual member embarked on separate international tours and artist residencies for most of 2023.
Come Around and Love Me – Jalen Ngonda
Jalen Ngonda is famous for his voice that exudes rawness, elegance, charm and confidence – anyone who has listened to him live can come to understand how he is one of the most captivating performers on today’s soul scene. Ngonda has been composing since he was fourteen years of age, and now describes his sound as ‘modern soul and R&B, while trying to fit in the Beach Boys and the Beatles somewhere in between’. Come Around and Love Me utilises a classic approach, without falling into imitation – there is no doubt that Ngonda will continue to shine with his timeless tunes.
