Concert pianist, composer and international keynote speaker Ambre Hammond launches her second album of exquisite original compositions.
Night Flowers is a collaboration of music and photography between pianist/composer Ambre Hammond and photographer James O’Toole. James captured 24 night-images of flowers in gardens around Sydney.
Ambre immortalised these images in music with the composition of 24 pieces for solo piano. An exquisite limited edition Coffee table book of 24 photographs of Night Flowers by James O’Toole will be available for purchase. The sheet music for the 24 Night Flowers will also be available for purchase while also on the program are classical works by Chopin and Liszt.
“…Ambre has impeccable virtuosity. And now she is bringing up another facet of her musical personality – she is a great composer. I just listened to her Night Flowers and it is wonderful! My warmest congratulations to Ambre.” – Lalo Schifrin – Grammy Award winning Film Composer (Mission Impossible, Rush Hour, Dirty Harry)
Since completing her Associate and Licentiate Diplomas in the same year at the tender age of 11 (breaking a world record in doing so), Ambre has performed throughout the world as a soloist, with orchestras and in collaboration with various international artists and has released 6 albums including the Rachmaninoff Concerto No 3 recorded live in Argentina at the age of 16. Lalo Schifrin was commissioned to write his Double Concerto for Classical Piano, Jazz Trumpet and Symphony Orchestra especially for Ambre and James Morrison.
Ambre is the founder of humanitarian project “Girl Piano Truck” and has taken the project to India, Thailand, East Timor, Belarus, The Philippines and Africa. The project is being developed into a documentary series for TV.
Ambre is a proud Ambassador of the Peace Program for the United Nations Association of Australia.
