Laila Ellmoos, historian with the City of Sydney, makes a welcome return to Arts Wednesday at 10:40 am with a new series for 2020.Called Developing Sydney, it is the name of an exhibition Laila is curating at Customs House, opening late March and looks at photographs in the council archives from 1900 – 1920. In episode 1. Laila gives us an overview of the series. The exhibition coincides with a revamped pathway to council archives, noe accessible through one portal and this is the link: https://archives.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au
My special guest at 11:00 am is Jenny Eriksson, viola da gamba player and founder of the Marais Project. The group are giving a concert at Elizabeth Bay House to mark 250 years since Daniel Solander, Swedish botanist, arrived in Australia with Captain Cook on the Endeavour. The concert features music from Sweden at that time and we listen to some of it from the Marais Project’s latest CD, Smorgasbord.
Other music is all botanical.
I look forward to your company!
