At 10:40, Richard Major concludes the series on Australian birds with the Common Myna.
At 11:00 am, I will play a conversation I recorded with viola da gamba player, Jenny Eriksson. Jenny is the founder of The Marais Project, dedicated to 16th century music, where she plays her acoustic viola da gamba. She is also the founder of Elysian Fields, her jazz group, with whom she plays electric viola da gamba. The two groups are performing Sunday 28 January at Independent Theatre in North Sydney, with the first half of the program by The Marais Project. In the second half, Elysian Fields plays the poetry of Thomas Wyatt set to music by Matt McMahon. In between talking, we listen to music and also to the acoustic viola da gamba, which Jenny brought into the studio.
Music is all related to the sixteenth century.
Do keep me company!
