On Arts Thursday, Maisy Stapleton commenced a special series, Asian Intersections, examining how we intersect with Asia through culture and art.
In a two-program interview, Jackie Menzies OAM, Emeritus Curator of Asian Art at the Art Gallery of NSW and President of The Asian Art Society of Australia joined the us to set the background to the series Asian Intersections and to speak about the key role that exhibitions at the Art Gallery of NSW have played in introducing Asian culture to Sydneysiders and the importance of Asian collections and cultural events in nurturing understanding between Asia and Australia.
Jackie also discussed where you can go to see and enjoy Asian art in Sydney and spoke of the work of many Asian artists in Australia.
