Popular soprano Amelia Farrugia pays tribute to the lives and careers of Australian divas June Bronhill and Dame Joan Sutherland in this exciting world premiere that will take audiences on an uplifting and entertaining operatic journey.
Amelia will bring her own unique flair to the stunning repertoire that carried Bronhill and Sutherland to the forefront of the international stage. The performance will also showcase original compositions by renowned Australian composer Elena Kats-Chernin.
In an evening interspersed with anecdotes and history from charismatic compere Guy Noble, Amelia will dazzle audiences with her performances of popular songs and arias from opera and operetta including Faust, La Traviata, La Rondine, Manon, The Merry Widow, Orpheus in the Underworld, and The Sound of Music. Amelia will also perform the famous aria that Sutherland and Bronhill both sang at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Lucia di Lamsmermoor.
ARIA Award-Winning Music Director and pianist Tamara Anna Cislowska will join Amelia on stage, along with the Acacia Quartet and a select choir.
