In celebration of 40 years on air since 1983, Eastside Radio is hosting a series of intimate concerts at Low 302 presented by your favourite presenters.
Every month, we have invited a selection of various programs to curate a night of live music at this special venue on Crown St in Surry Hills.
Our final act for the year is Something’s Burning with Clare O’Meara and George Washingmachine. They will be joined by Abby Constable (drums) and Barney Wakeford (piano).
George Washingmachine is an entertainer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and jazz vocalist. He has played all of the major festivals around Australia and is a sought-after MC, having hosted Jazz in the Domain, the Darling Harbour Jazz Festival, and the Thredbo Jazz Festival. George tours regularly in Europe, appearing at festivals in France, Switzerland, and the UK. He is passionate about the world of jazz and entertainment, and hosts Eastside Radio’s Something’s Burning on Fridays at 9am with Clare O’Meara.
Clare O’Meara is a professional musician from Sydney. She plays the violin, piano, accordion, mandolin, and guitar, and is also a vocalist. She has toured extensively, recorded with many of Australia’s musical greats both nationally and internationally, and performed at major music festivals in Europe, the USA, and Asia. One of her career highlights was performing at the International Jazz Festival at Havana Cuba, with her Gypsy Jazz ban ‘Feel The Manouche’ in 2016. In January 2018, Claire won the ‘Musician Of The Year’ award at the Golden Guitar Awards in Tamworth, making her the first woman to do so. She hosts Something’s Burning on Fridays at 9am with frequent collaborator George Washingmachine.
At Eastside Radio’s Live @ Low 302, join two legends of the Australian music industry as they take you on a genre bending journey across the entire musical spectrum. Something’s Burning is sometimes hot, sometimes smoking and all the time filling. So blacken up your teeth and prepare to be scalded by these two musical encyclopedias, performing live with a unique selections of songs.
