On Saturday 4 February, a 24-hour movie-marathon starts on Macquarie Street
Outdoor cinema, 24-hours non-stop and free entry? Visitors can experience all of this from Saturday 4 February, 6pm to Sunday 5 February, 6 pm on Macquarie Street.
The movie marathon starts off with the ABC documentary “Secrets of the Australian Museum” and will be followed by “The Mopoke Short Film Festival”. Visitors will also have the chance to meet the filmmakers in person. After every film, there are Q&A sessions where film enthusiasts and filmmakers can connect with each other.
Visitors also get the chance to meet award-winning artists such as Jelena Sinik, who presents her internationally screened animations “101 Days of Lockdown” and “Imagining Time”, or D.C. Fairhurst, whose short films have won numerous awards and have been shown at festivals and genre events worldwide.
The festival also brings film classics such as “Eternity’s Gate”, “Midnight in Paris”, “The French Dispatch” or “Lost in Translation” to the screen. Although the entry is free, tickets need to be booked in advance.
The outdoor-cinema is part of the 24-hour Mopoke Festival. The festival offers a wide range of different cultural, arts and music events.
