“We are delighted to offer families such a great day out at the movies. Not only do the kids get to watch a terrific family-friendly film, but can have fun in one of the wonderful workshops available.” – Richard Morgan, General Manager of Event Cinemas Bondi
There are a number of phenomenal movies on offer these school holidays including those loveable and cheeky pets in The Secret Life of Pets. For their fifth fully-animated feature-film collaboration, Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures present a comedy about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day.
Another must-see movie these school holidays is the reimagining of Disney’s cherished family film Pete’s Dragon. For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace, who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete. Pete is a mysterious 10year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliot. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliot seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie, an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack owns the local timber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.
Finally, discover the world of Storks this September when it flies into cinemas. Storks deliver babies…or at least they used to. Now they deliver packages for a global internet retail giant. Junior (Andy Samberg), the company’s top delivery stork, is about to be promoted when he accidentally activates the Baby Making Machine, producing an adorable and wholly unauthorized baby girl. Desperate to deliver this bundle of trouble before the boss gets wise, Junior and his friend Tulip, the only human on Stork Mountain, race to make their first-ever baby drop – in a wild and revealing journey that could make more than one family whole and restore the storks’ true mission in the world.
