Hi Folks!
As regular listeners, you’ll know that the 1st FJD of each month is devoted to one or two sensational albums. Well this month’s is extra special!
Many old-timers will know about the 1963 Paris concert of the Duke Ellington Orchestra (Atlantic Records). Only a few will know that the French Duke Ellington society managed to uncover recordings of other evenings of that tour.
The concert(s?) and its recordings are sublime. Different and more unusual songs given over to more interesting and challenging arrangements and played with greater conviction.
FreedomJazzDance Saturday 2pm.
Don’t miss it !!!
