Global Rhythms 2017 Music Festival Line-Up Announcement
King Tide, Alice Terry, The Crooked Fiddle Band, The Strides with Afro Moses Homage to Fela Kuti, Alphamama, San Lazaro and Afrobrasiliana Soundsystem
Global Rhythms celebrates 5 years this September with another line up of unique and diverse artists from all over the country! Returning to its beautiful waterfront home in Glebe, this music festival promises to deliver an afternoon of exciting music, beautiful food from around the world, environmental workshops and kids activities, all between a backdrop of both bridges. Proudly presented by Eastside Radio with support from the City of Sydney, Global Rhythms will again be one of the main events of the 2017 Sydney Fringe Festival.
Alice Terry sounds like a gutsy Delta blues queen whose spirited performances and clever writing have earned her recognition and support with artists like Beth Hart and Allen Stone. Festival larrikins King Tide are arguably the best uptown/jamdown/rocksteady reggae/got soul combo in the land. These ARIA nominees and OZ Music Award winners invite you to come along and argue the point! There seems to be a common thread between The Crooked Fiddle Band’s twisting rhythms and frenetic accompaniment of gypsy, klezmer, Balkan folk and cinematic post rock. While a love of Jazz, Soul, Hip Hop and World music underlies Alphamama’s unique sound and approach to songwriting as she shares her wondering’s about the state of the world, the cosmos and a woman’s place in it.
Join us for a unique and environmentally sustainable celebration of diversity and great music at this family-friendly event in the beautiful waterfront of Bicentennial Park, Glebe. Complete with amazing views and ample grass areas to sit and enjoy. Earlybird tickets are only $30! Who else can guarantee a kaleidoscope of sound, food and art for that amount?
