Balkan superstar Goran Bregović returns to the Concert Hall to debut his critically acclaimed new work, Three Letters from Sarajevo.
Returning with his signature infectious Gypsy-rock mastery for a boisterous night in the Concert Hall, the prolific composer will play a mixed repertoire of three decades of beloved tunes alongside his latest album dedicated to his birthplace, Sarajevo.
A dedicated explorer of music, Bregović combines Bulgarian, Georgian and Corsican traditions with electric guitar and lively vocals. However, his true passion is the music of Europe’s roaming Gypsy musicians. Transcending geographic and cultural boundaries, Bregović’s music with the world-famous Wedding & Funeral Band displays the cathartic power of a live music experience through the seamless blend of Gypsy-Balkan brass, folk percussion, vivacious vocals and a string troupe.
Having collaborated with legendary voices Iggy Pop, Scott Walker, Polish star Kayah and fellow Sydney Opera House party-starter alumnus, the Gipsy Kings. Goran Bregović’s return to Sydney Opera House guarantees a joyous and soul-nourishing evening that will make it impossible to stay in your seat.
