Do you want to see what’s going on behind the scenes of a Radio Station? Do you dream of working as a broadcaster? Do you love music?
Become an intern at Eastside Radio!
Eastside Radio offers a great internship program for both interns from Australia and overseas. We have been on air for over 40 years – since 1983. Our Radio Station has been hosting interns from all over the world ever since. But who better to tell you about the internship programme at Eastside Radio than one of our interns, Sara from Germany!
Hi, my name is Sara and I am currently interning at Eastside Radio for 4 months. After I finished highschool in Germany, I decided to come to Eastside Radio. Although I have already worked for a radio station in Germany before I came here, it’s not necessary to have experience in this field. But there are other skills you should bring with you. The most important thing is to be open towards new things! You will learn so many new skills during your internship you should be motivated to acuire. For example, you will learn how to create new content for the website by working with “WordPress”, you will aslo work with the audio editing software Adobe Audition and record in the studio and: you even get to learn how to produce and present your own show! So, be open to learn all this new stuff!
Here are only a few things I did during my internship at Eastside Radio:
- I presented Arts Monday every two weeks.
- I wrote a review about Mo’Ju together with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Opera House.
- I co-hosted Drive Wednesday on International Women’s Day together with Virginia Lowe.
- I wrote sponsors posts for our website. You can find them here.
- I isolated interviews from different shows and edited them as a podcast for our website, such as this one.
