Jazz At The Lounge 2025: Celebrating Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers

Get ready for a night of driving swing, soulful solos and hard bop brilliance as Jazz at The Lounge 2025 continues with a high-energy tribute to one of the greatest jazz ensembles of all time — Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers.

Led by acclaimed Australian drummer Andrew Dickeson, this powerhouse quintet brings the fiery energy and deep groove of Blakey’s legendary band into the intimate setting of The Concourse Lounge. Joined by Simon Ferenci (trumpet), Hugh Barrett (piano), Jacob Graham (bass), and rising star Justin Yeo (saxophone), Dickeson and his band will dig into classic Jazz Messengers repertoire — including the iconic Moanin’ by Bobby Timmons — and more.

Expect a night of foot-tapping rhythms, virtuosic solos and the unmistakable spirit of one of jazz’s most influential groups. This is a heartfelt celebration of Blakey’s legacy and a thrilling showcase of Australia’s top jazz talent in full flight.

“Wash away the dust of your day with a night of soulful sounds and fiery swing.”

Part of the 2025 Jazz at The Lounge series — featuring ten unmissable concerts with some of Australia’s most exciting jazz artists including James Morrison, Hetty Kate, Nicki Parrott, and the Dan Barnett Big Band — this concert is a must for jazz lovers and anyone looking for a night of world-class live music.
