October is Mental Health Awareness month. For our second mental-health-related show, GT chats to former elite cricketer and founder of The Kindness Factory Kath Koschel.
Kath has an incredible story. She has twice broken her back, came close to losing her leg and had to learn how to walk again. Along the way, she had to give up her dream career as a cricketer. While in recovery, Kath lost her fiancé Jim, and his mother, to suicide. It’s enough to floor anyone for good. But not Kath.
Kath now runs The Kindness Factory, a charity that encourages people to show simple acts of kindness to themselves and others. She also travels the world giving inspirational talks where she shares her experiences in overcoming adversity and how kindness changed her life for the better.
Kath is joining us with Tahnee Schulz, chief psychologist at The Kindness Factory, and CTL psychologist Rene Poulos, to share their thoughts on mental health in sport and the small acts of kindness that can make all the difference.
Listen on Tuesday at 3pm or catch up online.
