Australian artist Marina DeBris is internationally renown for using rubbish to create stunning fashion garments. DeBris collects bottles, takeaway boxes, wrappers and any waste she can find washed up on the beach to construct her intricate pieces.
As part of the annual Sculpture by the Sea exhibit, DeBris has built an intriguing and interactive installation called ‘Inconvenience Store’. She spoke with Ruth Hessey on Monday Drive about what to expect from the new artwork.
Sculpture by the Sea runs 19th October to 5th November and you can find ‘Inconvenience Store’ in Marks Park, on the exhibition trail, alongside Sydney Water refill stations.
