Hey Eastsiders!
My name is Marcella Tocco, I am 20 years old from Long Island, New York and am a student at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. I am a junior majoring in journalism and electronic media and minoring in Italian. I am currently living here in Sydney for three months on a program through the communications college at my university. I have completed my four weeks of classes at the University of Sydney, had my week long spring break in New Zealand, and am now starting my 8-week internship here at Eastside FM Radio Station!
I absolutely love to travel hence why I am almost 10,000 miles away from home and I have a huge passion for music also hence why I am interning at a radio station. I grew up in a household where music was always playing whether it be my mom’s favorite 80’s rock bands or my dad’s childhood favorite Italian songs. My sisters and I would often put on mini concerts for my parents where they’d sit on the couch and ask us to perform some songs for them on every commercial of whatever show we were all watching together.
I love just about every genre of music, anywhere on the spectrum from R&B, hip hop, to country and rock n’ roll. I also enjoy singing some R&B soul; I love me some Etta James, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, I could go on forever.
My go to genre to listen to if I just want to jam is 90s/early 2000s R&B, I could listen for hours on end. I love listening to Ashanti, Mario, Usher, The Pussycat Dolls, Ciara and all artists alike.
It is hard to narrow down my favorite songs because I have so many, but I’ve scattered some songs throughout this post that I absolutely love and would recommend to anyone!
