Meet Sarah, Our New Audio Intern

Sarah Windley: Audio Engineering Intern at Eastside FM

Hey all you jazzy folk! My name is Sarah and I’m a 21-year-old electrical engineering student. I’ve just finished my third year, and what better way to spend the holidays than to blend what I’ve learnt at uni with my true passion – music. Over the past couple of years I’ve been falling into an ocean of all things techno and rave. I produce industrial techno under the handle Viscera, and recently had an EP release on local label Black Noir Records:

Aside from studying and making music, I work part-time as a dental assistant, as well as run raves in Sydney and Newcastle as part of underground techno collective C5 Presents. I’ve loved being involved in all aspects of the local scene, and building an Australian audience for industrial techno.

It’s this grassroots community spirit that drew me to Eastside, and I can’t wait to get even more involved in the journey of sound through our world and ourselves. I love the combination of creativity and unapologetic nerdiness that I get to explore, from crafting gritty grooves to setting up innovative audio-visuals displays, and I’m super excited to enrich my career as an audio engineer with Eastside FM!

If I had to pick an all-time favourite track, it would be:

I’ll be here over the summer, and during the winter break next year. If you’re in the office, come and say hi. I’m always up for some new recommendations of artists, genres or podcasts. Looking forward to meeting you all.
