One of the most intriguing, diverse and ultimately creative musical acts/artistic collectives to emerge from the US, THE RESIDENTS are returning to Sydney in March. This radical group’s members have remained completely anonymous for almost six decades whilst continuing to tour, release music and make art. Recently, Paris Pompor from Eastside Radio caught up with Homer Flynn of The Cryptic Corporation – the organisation who began as the group’s “enablers” and remain their conduit with the outside world. The pair begin by discussing the band’s reasons for not doing interviews themselves, not even disguised with the giant eyeballs they have often worn to hide their faces. Flynn also talks about the recent Residents documentary, “Theory Of Obscurity” as well as what you can expect from the group if you catch them live at Sydney’s Factory Theatre on March 24.
