ARTBAR NOVEMBER: FINALE 2016
– Curated by Megan Cope
MCA ARTBAR ‘FlashBlaks to the Future’ curated by Megan Cope
It’s time to enjoy art, listen to great music and dance!
ARTBAR takes your gallery experience and flips it on its head through art, music, design and performance.
Kicking off after dark on the last Friday of every month, ARTBAR brings exhibitions, music, design and live acts together under the direction of a guest curator, transforming the MCA into a pulsating piece of performance art.
For this month’s (and the year’s final) MCA ARTBAR, the Museum transforms into a space of reflection courtesy of artist Megan Cope.
FlashBlaks to the Future invites you to take part in storytelling, poetry and workshops that explore notions of freedom, inter-generational memory and cultural transmission.
The Museum will be mobilised with deadly voices and get amongst contributions by Hannah Bronte, poeTRIBE, Cope St Collective, FEMPRE$$ DJ’s plus more.
Highlights for your night: Richard Bell will play ‘Bad Santa’ determining who’s been naughty and who’s been nice. Work with organic forms in a weaving workshop. Bake damper with Gabby Briggs
Plus: Immerse yourself in illuminated rooms, technologically-driven sculptures and philosophy as you explore Tatsuo Miyajima: Connect with Everything for an extra $11.
