On Arts Wednesday 22 July 2020, Sylvia’s guest was Helena Ameisen and her extraordinary love story. She was a Jewish girl from Sydney, he was an Egyptian Muslim, 17 years her senior and just separated from his wife. It shouldn’t have worked, but it it did. Overcoming the many obstacles – religion, age, culture – they enjoyed a wonderful 18-year marriage in Alexandria, until his untimely death.
