The Final Tally Episode 9: Election outcome and aftermath

On Saturday 3 May 2025 the Australian public voted in the federal election after a five week campaign to elect members to the 48th Federal Parliament. The incumbent Labor Party led by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, won the election in an historic landslide victory. The ALP is set to win its largest seat count since the 1980s under Bob Hawke. The Opposition Liberal National Coalition suffered one of its worst electoral defeats in decades with Leader Peter Dutton, losing his own seat in Queensland. Ryan and Mikeli get together one last time to go over the results and analyse them. They talk about what went well for Labor, what went wrong for the Coalition, and where Australia goes from here with their new Labor Majority government.
