To mark the 12th Sydney Latin American Film Festival, SLAFF will host a fundraiser in support of the ongoing work of the organisation that has brought to Sydney the best of Latin America’s art, history and culture.
Join us for one of our much loved Cine Lounge sessions: a night of great films, music, drinks and food in the best company! We are presenting an enriching and enlightening evening with a screening of 2016 audience favourite Beyond My Grandfather Allende accompanied by a great Latin American folk music repertoire.
Latin America, a continent renowned for its passion and energy is home to a line of committed fighters for justice. Come and experience the beauty and pain involved in the making of a revolution and immerse yourself in the history of Chile’s leader Salvador Allende. Experience first hand the power of art to comment and promote action against oppression.
Music Hugo Leal will play a set of traditional Latin American folk music.
Film Enjoy a screening of award winning film Beyond My Grandfather Allende. An intimate and revealing documentary from his granddaughter, Marcia Tambutti Allende, who seeks to uncover the personal life of the man who has become an enduring symbol of resistance.
SLAFF is a nonprofit organisation. Proceeds from the Festival are donated to community development, social justice and environmental projects in Latin America and Australia.
