Jane Edwina Seymour spoke with Dr Margaux Dombkins on Arts about ‘The Days are as Grass’. Jane, an acclaimed Australian actor working in LA, has returned to Sydney to direct the Australian premiere of The Days Are as Grass – a collection of plays that explores the nature of life – the fragility of love and the complexity of relationships in a blend of humour, unerring honesty, tenderness and poignancy. Featuring a stellar Australian ensemble, the show looks into the heart of the human condition – the different roads we travel throughout life, often with ‘destination unknown’. “An entire life in a blade of grass”. The Days are as Grass was written by the esteemed Carol Hall, who is best known for her work in musical theatre – composed the music and lyrics for Broadway hit The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and wrote the lyrics for the debut album of Tony Bennett and Bill Evans, Together Again.
