The Lost Lost Cabaret and Table – Arts Monday

The Lost Lost Cabaret is a comedy cabaret like no other! Presented by Choo Choo Troupe, this cabaret style show is a world of alt-comedy – burlesque, music, magic, and characters – all emceed by a nutbag of arguable brilliance and humour. The show features special guests who together with members of Choo Choo Troupe take you on a tour to Nowheresville, with wild antics and laughter as they try to find the answers to the universe before they release you, giddy, into the night s

Performer, Debbie Zukerman is my guest today.

Table is an epic tale of belonging, identity and the things we pass on. Written by Tanya Ronder, the play spans six generations, twenty-three characters and one very special piece of furniture – from 1898 when master craftsman David Best makes a table to celebrate his marriage, to London in the 2000s. Through it all David’s table is the centre of family rituals, meals and secrets, where couples have sex, where children play, where a corpse is laid out, where songs are sung and names are carved deep into its grooves. Each mark is a point in time, each scratch a moment lost but not forgotten.

Director, Kim Hardwick is my guest today.
