From light-tripping abstracts to brutal architectural angles, acute observations to stunning
panoramas, TIM RITCHIE’s photographs of early morning Sydney have become an unmissable
feature of the daily social-media feeds for thousands of locals.
In his first solo exhibition, the former Radio National Music Director and one of the original
Double J / triple j crew, presents a collection of signed, one-off original prints displaying the
breadth of his styles, presented by Groovescooter, Folonomo Gallery and curated by Artemis
Projects.
Please join us for the exhibition launch at 6pm on Thursday 1 September at Folonomo
Gallery in Surry Hills.
On Tuesday 13 September we present Tim Ritchie In Conversation with Paris Pompor,
sharing stories of a long-lost Sydney: a pre-dawn world where memory rather than photos recall characters spilling out of inner-city nightclubs after his DJ sets in a pre-Lockout Law city. The conversation will take place at Play Bar in Surry Hills where a new portrait of Tim painted for the 2016 Archibald Prize by Sydney artist Adrian Elmer, will be unveiled.
Furthermore, an Artist Talk featuring Tim interviewing one of his favourite Australian photographers, Peter Elfs will get underway at the gallery on Saturday September 17 at 2pm.
Entry is free for all events.
