In the lead up to the Sydney International Womens’ Jazz Festival, at the end of October Mick Paddon is relaunching his Changing the Face of Jazz series of podcasts on his weekly show Time and Space. Starting six years ago, the series focuses on Australian female jazz instrumentalists who have come to prominence in recent years. They are changing the way we see and experience jazz even if no the way we hear it. We will hear first from trombonist and band leader Alex Silver on Time and Space on September 7th. There will be another profile each week right up to the start of the Festival. So we will get to hear also from Jess Dunn, Nadje Noorhuis, Angela Davis, Loretta Palmeiro, Ellen Kirkwood, Chloe Kim and Tessie Overmyer. All the profiles will be available in the Eastside podcast series Changing the Face of Jazz, accessible from the website.
Mick Paddon hosts Time and Space every Thursday from 12.00-14.00 only on Eastside Radio 89.7fm
