If you missed Topology’s brilliant performance in Randwick Town Hall in 2016 don’t despair! In celebration of their 20th anniversary, the Brisbane-based quintet will release their 14th full-length album entitled Tortured Remixes with a return performance for Twilight Concerts 2017. ARIA-nominated Topology’s lush music for strings, piano and sax has been driving music creativity in Australia for two decades.
In Tortured Remixes, popular melodies are filtered through the creative minds of Topology’s composers, John Babbage, Robert Davidson and Bernard Hoey. The result: iconic tunes stretched, bent and scrambled (almost) beyond recognition, then reassembled into adventurous new works. Featuring tortured reconstructions of The Saints, MC Hammer, The Beatles, Stevie Wright, Beyonce, Cold Chisel and many more, it will be the 60’s to the present like you’ve never heard them before. Pop filtered through twisted musical minds.
“Topology are the most creative and important composers of new contemporary classics in Australia today” Christopher Lawrence, ABC Classic FM, 2013.
The In-flight Bar & Diner will open at 6pm so you can enjoy a drink and delicious snacks.
