It’s a bit early in the year to be reviewing resolutions, but when I looked at my 2019 list I saw that ‘volunteering’ and ‘do something with radio’ hadn’t been tackled yet. I’ve been a big radio fan all my life – an essential love if you work from home in my opinion;  and when thinking about how I could combine my love for all things funked, jazzed and souled with doing my bit for the community, EastsideFM was an obvious choice.

I’m writing this at the end of my first day as a volunteer, and it’s been an interesting one. After an initial hiccup (I was mistaken for a Telstra technician) I was welcomed into the studio and given a tour. The EastsideFM office is a buzz of activity, with volunteers, presenters, producers and guests arriving and departing. The team is eager for volunteers and keen for everyone to explore their particular interest whether it be music direction, presenting or audio engineering – there’s room for every to contribute. If you’re a music lover, keen to learn new skills from marketing to presenting (and all in between) contact EastsideFM.
