William Yang’s photographic practice explores and is informed by political pressures and issues of sexual and cultural identityl. His work has significantly contributed to the Australian photographic scene spanning over five decades. Yang’s photographic series My Uncle’s Murder is featured at UNSW Galleries presented by the Biennale of Sydney: Ten Thousand Suns. The series recounts the murder of William Fang Yuen in 1922 at the hands of a White plantation manager in far noth Queensland. Hear William speaking in front of his work at UNSW Galleries.
