About Me:
My name is Tilda, and I am a Year 10 student from Caringbah Selective High School in the Sutherland Shire. I have a sister named Freya, who is an extraordinary flautist. My dad works for the National Parks and Wildlife Service, but in his spare time, he plays bass guitar in his band, while my mum is an ecologist and a very talented sketcher and artist. Personally, my hobbies include running, reading, and listening to music. 24/7. I always have my headphones in. My favorite genre of all time is pop, but I have recently been expanding my tastes to include genres like rap, classical, and folk.

Why Eastside Radio?
Work experience is a program that helps kids in Year 10 to gain real-world experience in their chosen professions. The world of music and broadcasting really appeals to me, particularly because I am considering a career in journalism once I graduate. I think radio is an interesting, engaging form of journalism, requiring critical thinking and curiosity, and Eastside, incorporating music, is an added bonus. I am learning about the projects the volunteers here are working on and the interesting subjects they are covering. People from all over come to volunteer, and I’m lucky to spend a week here, observing and learning.
Music:
Music is something that is really important to me, that has and will continue to shape me as a person. I grew up with Australian rock of all kinds, but as I got older, shifted more into pop. My favorite song right now is 12 to 12 by sombr, and an all-time favorite of mine is “Heartbreak Weather” by Niall Horan. A song that I will always love is “How To Make Gravy” by Paul Kelly. I truly admire the way Paul is able to tell a story through song, and the way he is able to capture Australian culture in his music.
